Butterfly Craft and Candy House

This week, our young artists created a beautiful butterfly using colorful beads, gems, and mixed-media materials. Children explored different shapes, sizes, textures, and shades of blue while carefully arranging the pieces to form the butterfly’s wings and body. This hands-on activity helped develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, concentration, and spatial awareness. Students also practiced pattern recognition and creative problem-solving as they selected materials and decided where to place them. The project encouraged patience, creativity, and self-expression while introducing the concept of mosaic art. We are proud of their wonderful butterfly creations and the effort they put into every detail!

This week, students explored imagination and design by creating a whimsical candy-inspired beach house. Using bright colors, patterns, and creative shapes, they transformed a giant piece of candy into a unique seaside home. Students learned about color harmony, perspective, and composition while carefully planning the placement of doors, windows, and decorative details. This project encouraged creative thinking, problem-solving, and storytelling as students imagined what it would be like to live in a candy house by the ocean. Through drawing and coloring, they also strengthened their fine motor skills and attention to detail. We are proud of their creativity and the vibrant, imaginative worlds they brought to life! Students will continue working on and finish their abstract fish paintings next week.
