Kandinsky Tree

EP-PK

In this colorful project, children ages 3–5 explored shape, color, and texture through hands-on collage art. Using pre-painted backgrounds and simple paper cutouts, they created tree trunks and bright, circular “flowers” inspired by Kandinsky’s abstract style. This activity encouraged young learners to practice important skills such as gluing, layering, and identifying shapes and colors. By making choices about where to place their pieces, children also developed confidence in their creativity and artistic decision-making. The process was both playful and educational, supporting early fine motor development and imaginative expression.

In this imaginative landscape project, children ages 6–10 explored the use of color, shape, and pattern using oil pastels on black paper. Inspired by abstract and modern art, students created bold tree forms and filled them with colorful patterns like stripes, dots, and geometric designs. The rolling hills, stylized houses, and playful sky elements encouraged creative storytelling through art. This activity helped students strengthen their understanding of foreground, background, and overlapping shapes, while developing fine motor control and confidence in their personal artistic expression.
