People Drawing

Picture 1-

This picture of a family walking together through nature is perfect for practicing simple drawing techniques, especially for 2nd -3rd grader. The bright colors and cheerful details, such as the sun, butterflies, and trees, make it an inviting scene for children to learn from. This artwork provides a great opportunity for young learners to explore both creativity and technique.

Most of the children didn’t finish the family picture, likely because it includes more advanced techniques, such as holding hands and adding hair styles, which can be challenging for beginners. The details, like creating expressions and balancing the different figures, might have required more focus and practice. Even though these elements are trickier, they help the kids develop important drawing skills, such as proportion and movement. Over time, as they practice more, they will gain confidence in tackling these kinds of complex scenes, and their artwork will become more detailed and refined.

Picture 2-

This playful drawing of children jumping on a trampoline is a great way to introduce young learners to the joy of art. The stick-figure style makes it simple for beginners to replicate, focusing on basic shapes like circles for heads and lines for limbs. The bright, cheerful colors and the lively energy in the children's poses create an inviting atmosphere that encourages creativity. With details like butterflies, flowers, and even a bee, this picture also provides an opportunity for kids to learn how to include fun, simple elements of nature in their artwork. It’s perfect for teaching movement and expression, showing that art can capture dynamic and joyful moments.

Some of PS and PK kids didn’t finish the trampoline picture because it was their first time trying to draw people. Since drawing figures can be challenging for beginners, they were likely learning how to shape bodies, faces, and limbs for the first time. While the stick-figure style is simple, capturing movement and expressions, as well as adding fun details like hair and clothing, can be a bit overwhelming initially. With more practice, they will gradually improve their skills and feel more confident in completing drawings of people. This activity provides a great introduction to figure drawing in a fun and engaging way.
