Whale-Buttons & Sequins Craft

PS&PK

In this week’s art activity, our young learners explored button art by creating colorful ocean-themed designs. Children aged 3-5 practiced their fine motor skills by carefully placing and gluing various buttons, sequins, and shiny materials onto the canvas. This hands-on activity helped them recognize shapes, colors, and textures while expressing their creativity. The playful design of a whale splashing in the water encouraged imagination, while sorting and sticking buttons supported early math and coordination development. The sparkling result brought smiles and boosted their confidence in art-making.

In this week’s button art project, students aged 6-10 explored texture, color arrangement, and design while creating an ocean-themed artwork. They used a variety of materials, including buttons, sequins, and shiny gems, to fill in the shape of a playful whale and ocean waves. Through this activity, students practiced planning their composition, selecting color tones, and layering materials to create depth and visual interest. They also learned about balance and spacing while enhancing their fine motor skills. This project encouraged creativity and attention to detail, resulting in unique and vibrant artwork.
